How a TapIn design works

  1. The look is artwork, the barcode is yours. A design sets the strip across the middle of the pass: its pattern, colors, stickers and lettering. The barcode or QR code is your card's own number, drawn by the wallet.
  2. The place's logo can take over. Add the gym's or library's logo and the card color can follow it, or keep the design's color.
  3. Everything moves. Drag stickers, the logo and your photo on the pass, tap them to swap or resize, and type the place's name, your name and the number straight onto it.
  4. Show it off. Share a picture of your design without the barcode or number, with a link that opens TapIn wearing it.

Good to know

Are the designs free?
Yes. Every design, every change to it and the pass itself are free. TapIn is paid for by a few ads on the page, never on the pass.
Can I change a design after I pick it?
Yes. A design is a starting point. In the builder you can change the card color, the pattern, the lettering and the stickers, add your gym's logo and your photo, and drag every piece around, at any step and right on the pass.
Will the front desk still scan it?
Yes. The design only changes the artwork. The barcode or QR code is the one on your card, drawn by Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in its own white panel, which is what the scanner reads.
Do these designs work in both Apple Wallet and Google Wallet?
Yes. The same design becomes an Apple Wallet pass on an iPhone and a Google Wallet pass on Android. Each wallet lays out the text its own way; the strip artwork and colors are yours in both.
How is this different from the cards Apple Wallet and Google Wallet make themselves?
The wallets' own cards keep the design simple. TapIn is for a pass you want to look at: hundreds of designs, twenty patterns, eight letterings, stickers and any emoji, the place's logo and colors, and your photo, all editable.
